To Place an Order |
David Berger Photography
If you would like to order one or more prints, or if you just want to know how to do that, please read the brief instructions below. Note that I am not a web programmer by any means. My site is relatively simple, and the ordering process is neither automatic nor interactive. Basically, all you need to do is to send me an e-mail, a FAX, or a letter to get the process started. Please be aware that all sales are final. If you are thinking about ordering a print, I want you to be very, very sure that you really, really want it before you do place the order, because I will not take it back and return your money in case you change your mind once you have received it. When you do receive your order, please be very careful when handling the print or prints (see About the Prints for handling tips). In particular, I recommend that you not remove the polyethylene bag unless absolutely necessary, to minimize the possibility of damage until the art can be framed. If any damage should occur after delivery, I'm sure you will understand and agree that I cannot be expected to provide a replacement without charge. Although I have successfully shipped prints to recipients as far away as Japan and Thailand, there is always a slight possibility that some damage may occur in transit. When you receive your order, if you find that the image on one or more prints is damaged as a result of mis-handling during shipment (and mind you, it would take some very severe mis-handling, because I package my prints very well), please notify me immediately. If the shipping really is at fault, I will expedite a replacement print or prints, at no additional charge, but naturally you will have to return the original damaged articles first, along with the damaged packaging. Please provide the following information in an e-mail addressed to db_photo@comcast.net (as a starting point, you might want to copy the list below and paste it into the blank message): 1) Your full name 2) The address to which the order is to be delivered: - House number and street name or P.O. box - City - State, province, or other as appropriate - Country - Zip Code if any 3) For each print you would like to purchase, tell me: - The title of the image - The type of media (refer to the pull-down list next to the image for available media) - The size (see the other pull-down list for available sizes) - The quantity - The price per print and the shipping price (just so I will know that you know) Note: if you want to order more than one image, more than one size, more than one type of media, etc., please list each variation separately (numbering would be nice). Example:
#1 Dwarf Mums Epson Canvas Medium (20x15") 1 $125 Ship all together: $10 #2 Garden Door Somerset Velvet Small (10x15") 2 $70 each #3 Garden Door Epson Canvas Medium (14x21") 1 $125 Total for Prints: $390 Shipping: $10 Grand total: $400 4) If you are ordering multiple prints, either on Roll Paper or Canvas, tell me whether you want them to be shipped together or individually. Remember that the shipping charge will be applied per package. 5) Method of payment - In your e-mail, please indicate which of the following you wish to use. Whichever one you may select, I will send you a return e-mail confirming receipt of your order, verifying the total price plus shipping, and providing an estimated (not exact) delivery date. For planning purposes, please allow approximately 4 weeks from placement of order to delivery:
- Personal Check, payable to David Berger Photography: A check is fine, but you'll have to mail it to me, and I will print and ship your order only after the check clears. Please print a copy of your e-mail, and staple the check to it.
- Cashier's Check, payable to David Berger Photography: Better, but you'll still have to mail it to me; I will print and ship soon after receipt. Please print a copy of your e-mail, and staple the check to it.
- Major international credit card (Visa or Mastercard): This is the best option, but I will need the following information: * Cardholder's name (even if the same as above) * Billing Address (even if the same as above) * Account Number * Expiration Date For your own security, DO NOT send your credit card information via e-mail. Instead, either FAX it to (408) 528-7037 or mail it to the address shown a few lines below. If you are sending payment by mail, you may want to avail yourself of postal security services. The US Postal Service offers several; the most applicable (copied from the USPS website) are: Certified Mail™ - You get a mailing receipt and can verify date and time of delivery online. Return Receipt - Want hard evidence that your mail was delivered? With this service, you get a postcard sent to you, signed by the person who received your package. Signature Confirmation™ - Get written proof by asking us to request a signature from the person that received your mail or shipment. You can even have a proof of delivery letter with the signature of the recipient faxed or mailed to you upon request. So, you may well ask, if you have to mail the payment anyway, why bother with e-mail at all? The answer is: with the e-mail, I will know much earlier what type of print media and shipping material I will need to have on hand when the time comes to print your order. If you would like to receive your prints a bit more quickly, this is a good way to hasten the process without causing me undue stress. Of course, if you have access to a FAX machine, you can use it to send your order and your credit card information at the same time. This is, in reality, the way to receive your prints with the least amount of delay. I will send a confirmation of your order by return FAX, along with an estimated delivery date. Please be aware that all sales are final. Order by Post (regular old-fashioned mail) Please provide the following information in a letter addressed to: David Berger Photography P.O. Box 731027 San José, CA 95173 As a starting point, you might want to copy the list below into a blank text file, and then edit as needed. Even though you will, presumably, include a return address on your envelope; and even if you want your order delivered to that same address, please provide the delivery address information as requested. 1) Your full name 2) Your e-mail address 2) The address to which the order is to be delivered: - House number and street name or P.O. box - City - State, province, or other as appropriate - Country - Zip Code if any 3) For each print you would like to purchase, tell me: - The title of the image - The type of media (see the other pull-down list) - The size (refer to the pull-down list next to the image for available sizes) - The quantity - The price per print and the shipping price (just so I will know that you know) - The total order amount Note: if you want to order more than one image, more than one size, more than one type of media, etc., please list each variation separately (numbering would be nice). If you prefer, you may enclose full payment with your order letter. If you wish to be a bit more cautious, you may specify that you would like me to confirm receipt of your order and verify the total price plus shipping first, and that you will send full payment after that. I will provide the confirmation either by return post or by e-mail, as you may indicate in your letter. In addition, I will give you an estimated (not exact) delivery date.
